ESPN BET Live will debut live on the main ESPN network on Aug. 12 and 13 and cover NFL, college football, and other scheduled sporting events. The one-hour show has only aired on ESPN2 and ESPNEWS since launching in March 2019.

Monday’s live show will feature Tyler Fulghum, Joe Fortenbaugh, Greg McElroy, and Dan Orlovsky. On Tuesday, Fulghum and Fortenbaugh will be joined by Stanford Steve and other guests, according to ESPN.

ESPN BET currently operates in 18 states, including Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. The sportsbook is set to replace WynnBet in New York, the most profitable U.S. sports betting market, this fall.

PENN Entertainment is counting on ESPN BET to hold its own in the Empire State’s betting market against industry giants like DraftKings and FanDuel.

Additionally, PENN Entertainment receives odds attribution and promotional services inclusive of digital product integrations, traditional media, and content integrations. PENN’s priority is to help generate maximum fan awareness of ESPN BET.

The primary focus is to serve sports fans via betting content

“Our primary focus is always to serve sports fans, and we know they want both betting content and the ability to place bets with less friction from within our products,” said Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman of ESPN, in last year’s press release.

“The strategy here is simple: to give fans what they’ve been requesting and expecting from ESPN. PENN Entertainment is the perfect partner to build an unmatched user experience for sports betting with ESPN BET.”

After launching in Nov. 2023, ESPN BET accounted for 8% of the U.S. market share. However, the company’s percent of total sales fell to approximately 4% in March, according to Bank of America’s report.

More importantly, ESPN uses its platform to educate sports fans on responsible gaming. This includes establishing a committee of responsible gaming, representative of a diverse cross-section of the business, to regularly review compliance, programming, and policies.

The Worldwide Leader in Sports has implemented responsible marketing policies and guidelines to safeguard fans. The company works with industry experts on best practices and continual review of responsible gaming.
