Victim shot 14 times, now NJ man sentenced for role in attempted robbery
A Middlesex County man is headed to prison for his role in an attempted robbery in New Brunswick where the victim was shot 14 times. 23-year-old Jonathan Rosales of New Brunswick previously pleaded guilty to an indictment charging him with conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery and attempted Hobbs Act robbery.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - Authorities have arrested and charged a Bridgeton man in connection to a fatal accident on Route 1 in April, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. Joseph Vega, age 43, was arrested by authorities in Georgia for causing the accident which resulted in the death of three people. The crash occurred on Friday, April 12. In early 2020, a search for the perfect place to build the new Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey/Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center led the New Brunswick Development Corporation (DEVCO) to 165 Somerset St., home of the overcrowded Lincoln Annex School. In exchange for the property, DEVCO negotiated with the project’s major partner, RWJBarnabasHealth, to commit $55 million to build a new school at nearby 50 Jersey Avenue on land donated by the chair of the RWJ University Hospital board and developer Jack Morris.
