Brooksville man arrested after drug deal goes bad
BROOKSVILLE — A drug deal gone bad turned into a robbery, kidnapping, police chase across two counties and two men in custody, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said. On July 17 at approximately 5:19 p.m., 911 dispatchers received a call advising an unknown man was attempting to flag down motorists in the area of Spring Lake Highway and Dallas Drive.
Hernando County Crime Stoppers offers reward for information on fugitive
BROOKSVILLE, Florida — Hernando County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the location and arrest of a fugitive. Travis Jeffrey Cummings, a 33-year-old from Brooksville, Florida, is wanted for failure to appear in court on multiple charges, including possession of cocaine, driving with a suspended license (second offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana (less than 20 grams), and no motor vehicle registration. There is no bond for any of the charges, according to a press release from Hernando County Crime Stoppers.
Woman trespassed from Publix for sitting out front and refusing to leave
A New Port Richey woman was arrested for trespassing when she sat in front of Publix and refused to leave despite being asked by police. An officer responded to Publix, located at 10601 U.S. Hwy. 441 in Leesburg, regarding a suspicious person around 10:37 a.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Dispatch advised that the caller, an employee of the business, stated 62-year-old Krystal Lynn Barnett was sitting in front of the business refusing to leave.
