CLARKSVILLE, TN – Austin Peay State University received 6,094 gifts and pledges from 2,553 donors and achieved a fundraising total of over $12.6 million during the 2024 fiscal year. Over the last three years, APSU has had a 6.2% increase in its number of donors and a 39% increase in its number of gifts.

Tennessee has earned a commitment from Covington (Ga.) Eastside linebacker Christian Gass. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound defender gave his verbal commitment to the Vols on Saturday, picking coach Josh Heupel’s group over Georgia and USC. The Peach State linebacker had offers from more than 2 dozen schools, including half of the SEC.

Grand Jury issues indictments for endangerment, drug trafficking crimes
A Christian County Grand Jury issued indictments for wanton endangerment, drug trafficking and abuse-related crimes on Friday. Charles Berry, age 27 of Hopkinsville, was indicted on multiple drug charges after Hopkinsville Police executed a probation violation warrant against Berry and reportedly found him to be in possession of drugs in May. Berry was indicted on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in synthetic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fire at Fall Creek Falls
At 2:42 Saturday afternoon, Piney Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire with Spencer Fire-Rescue, Fall Creek Falls Fire Dept, and Cedar Grove Fire Department. The structure was a large shed with many golf carts inside at the Dead Zero Shooting Park. Due to the reported size of the fire and the location, the Dunlap Fire Department and Harrison Ferry Fire Department were also requested for manpower and water.
