These life-changing moments are becoming reality for many Houstonians, thanks to two new programs launched by the Houston Housing Authority (HHA), in partnership with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). With $6.25 million in funding, these initiatives are redefining what affordable housing means for vulnerable residents.

Birchway Spring Cypress opens with 420 apartment units Kuykendahl Road in Spring
In April, Greystar opened the Birchway Spring Cypress apartments at 19101 Kuykendahl Road, Spring. The apartments feature keyless door entry, “soaking garden tubs” and full-size washers and dryers, according to the complex’s website. Facility amenities include a pool, outdoor grilling kitchen, fitness area and a dog park.
Casella to bring senior living apartments to Terranova W. Drive in Spring

Designed for residents age 55 and older, the community will offer one- and two-bedroom apartments for $1,475-$2,330 per month. The community will feature air-conditioned enclosed corridors, a golf putting green, a yoga studio and a dog park with a wash and grooming station.
Home-price growth sinks to lowest level since October: CoreLogic
Limited inventory and high mortgage rates continue to push home prices higher, but the pace of growth is starting to slow down. That’s according to the monthly home price index report from CoreLogic, which shows that U.S. home prices grew by 4.9% year over year in May. That was the lowest yearly rate of appreciation since October 2023.
