Fire department rescues cats from house fire in Palmer Lake
PALMER LAKE, Colo. (KRDO) - The Monument Fire Department (MFD) responded to a house fire in Palmer Lake where two people were rescued and 15-20 cats were found. MFD says that when crews arrived cats were jumping out of windows. So far crews have rescued 7 cats and found 3 dead. Records show RTD chief of police, now under investigation, routinely drove agency vehicle over 100 mph
The Regional Transportation District's chief of police routinely drove an agency vehicle over 100 mph, data obtained by CPR News show. Data logged by a transponder attached to the vehicle assigned to Joel Fitzgerald, Sr. recorded more than a dozen trips where the vehicle was traveling over 100 mph, and dozens of trips over 90 mph, between November 2023 and May 2024.
