    Springfield felon faces up to 10 years in prison after found with handgun

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Springfield man, who was previously convicted of armed robbery, faces up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing a firearm and ammunition.

    Springfield is home of North America’s Paperboard Packaging Competition

    According to the Department of Justice, 25-year-old Robbie Delgado of Springfield served a year and a half in prison from a 2019 state conviction for armed robbery and armed assault with intent to rob in Hampden County.

    On February 8th Delgado was arrested for having a Baretta .380 caliber semiautomatic handgun. He pleaded guilty on Tuesday to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

    His sentencing is scheduled for October 2nd and faces up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.
