Summer school in Springfield closing early due to heat

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Public Schools announces that summer school will dismiss early on Tuesday and Wednesday due to the heat.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for eastern Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin Counties from Monday morning through Tuesday evening. The heat index will make it feel like it’s around 100 degrees.

Springfield Public Schools summer school will close at 12 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and there will be no preschool. Lunch will still be served.
