Over 70 tickets issued and encampment found in Springfield neighborhood

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield city officials carried out a park and walk sweep in the vicinity of Oak Grove Avenue and Burr Street on Wednesday.

This operation aims to address various ordinances and code violations in the area.

During the sweep, the Springfield Police issued 51 ordinance citations, while the Code Enforcement team handed out 20 citations. Additionally, two vehicles were towed, and three parking tickets were issued. The enforcement teams also discovered and addressed an encampment in Hennessey Park.

The sweep is part of an ongoing effort by the Springfield Police and Code Enforcement to maintain order and ensure compliance with local regulations. Residents are encouraged to refer to the Good Neighbor Handbook for information on common ordinance issues and how to avoid them.
