Calling All Barbie Fans! Major Barbie Exhibit Coming To Minnesota
With over 60 years of cultural impact from toys to movies, Barbie is a worldwide phenomenon that has lived on for generations from toys to movies. In conjunction with the 65th anniversary of Barbie, a major Barbie exhibition will be coming to Minnesota, set to be hosted at the DECC in Duluth over the course of several weeks later this year.

Thousands of job openings available for State Fair
FALCON HEIGHTS, Minnesota — People are what make the Great Minnesota Get Together happen, and the fair is hiring thousands of workers. The Minnesota State Fair hires about 3,000 people throughout the summer to work in various departments for the 12-day event. Jobs include ticket sellers, ticket takers, parking and park & ride attendants, rides & games ticket takers, barn attendants, custodians and more, according to a press release.
Justin Liles: Dangerous heat and humidity with strong weekend storms coming.
Temperatures and humidity continue to increase through the weekend. Dangerous heat in the upper 80s to low 90s are possible along with tropical type humidity. Heat indices will be well into the 90s with 100s toward Minneapolis. There will also be potential for strong to severe storms on Saturday and Sunday. The severe thunderstorm potential will hinge on whether thunderstorms can break through the warmer air higher up in the atmosphere known as the cap.

Grouse Numbers are Up in Minnesota; When to Fish This Weekend
The DNR has released preliminary results on the grouse population based on drumming counts. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON. Schmitt describes drumming as when male grouse beat their wings quickly with the intent of signaling territory and attracting females. He says the DNR has people count the amounts of drumming. Schmitt indicates this is just an estimate which has been done every year since the early 1940s. He says the results show the drumming counts are the highest they've been since 1972. Schmitt says grouse go through population swings and this uptick in population doesn't insure good hunting this fall.
Minnesota's Largest Candy Store is no longer moving
JORDAN, Minn. (FOX 9) - Minnesota's Largest Candy Store is no longer moving from its home off Highway 169 in Jordan. After sharing plans in April to build a new, much larger candy store about 1,000 feet from its current location, owner Robert Wagner told FOX 9 he will not be moving the popular store because it would be too expensive to build due to the condition of the soil.

Minnesota State American Legion Convention continues in Willmar
(Willmar MN-) The 2024 American Legion State Convention continues today at the Willmar Conference Center. Department Commander Paul Hassing of Montgomery will call the convention to order at 8:30. Friday will include many awards to be given out, including Eagle Scout of the Year, which will go to Jackson Kramer of Hutchinson, and Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs Deputy Commissioner Ben Johnson will give an update on veterans issues.
