(Willmar MN-) The 2024 American Legion State Convention continues today at the Willmar Conference Center. Department Commander Paul Hassing of Montgomery will call the convention to order at 8:30. Growing Forward – Mobile Turf Project
The grass is greener in New Ulm! Last year we piloted an entire block of artificial turf at Oktoberfest – and it was a hit, enjoyed by thousands that weekend. Our local businesses stepped up with sponsorship dollars, and we were able to raise funds to own the turf, so we can bring this mobile green space back to New Ulm for future events. We plan to bring it out twice in 2024 – once for Crazy Days (Jul 26-27) and again for Oktoberfest (Oct 4-5). Huge shout-out and thank you to the founding donors who made this possible!
Bruins drop two league games during holiday week
YOUNG AMERICA – The Brownton Bruins fell to CRVL leading Young America Cardinals 8-5 on Tuesday, July 2. The Bruins rallied in the middle to late innings but fell short. Young America took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Blake Pistulka hit a two-out double to bring in designated hitter Matt Mann. Lead-off hitter Brayden Kohls followed by Mashing a two-run home run to put the Cardinals up 3-0. The Bruins got on the board in the top of the sixth inning as standout shortstop Scott Finberg socked a solo home run to cut the Cardinals lead to 3-1.
