OFT: Rivercut’s Notorious Number Ten

SPRINGFIELD, Mo–Rivercut Golf Course is the subject of this week’s Ozarks First Tee golf series.

KOLR 10’s Chris Pinson shifts his focus now, and will tour some of the more challenging holes in the Ozarks.

And he starts with Rivercut’s notorious number ten.

Chris Pinson/KOLR 10:”Hey there, welcome to week four of Ozarks First Tee. Today, we are here at Rivercut Golf Course. One of the most beautiful courses in all of Missouri. Where I’m joined by Assistant Pro, Jacoby Mast, who’s gonna give us the 411 on what number 10 the Notorious number 10. So Jacoby, what is it about this hole?”

Jacoby Mast:”Thanks, Chris. This is a beautiful par 5 that challenges all different level of golfers. Well, number 10 is a 611 par 5 from the tips. It requires a strong tee shot that does find the middle of the fairway, as you do have trouble left with water, and a very big bunker that likes to trap balls. From there, you have a decision to make, whether to clear the water that splits the fairway, right before the green, or lay back and lay up. This hole is definitely a risk and reward kind of hole. To where, one false move can lead to big numbers. From there, you’ll have about 150 yards into a shot that requires a high level of accuracy. If you go left, you’re in the water, if you go short, right, you’re in the bunkers. The safe miss is the front of the green. If you make par or better, you can continue on with you round knowing that you’ve tamed notorious number 10.”
