NFL legend Emmitt Smith to attend Boys & Girls Club of Springfield event

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Mercy Springfield Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield is welcoming NFL Hall-of-Famer Emmitt Smith as a special guest for its 25th annual Steak & Steak Dinner and Charity Auction this September.

The event will take place at the University Plaza Convention Center on September 24, 2024, from 7-10 p.m.

The event will feature a gourmet dinner, an auction, and Emmitt Smith as a guest speaker.

The Steak & Steak Dinner and Charity Auction serves as the major fundraising effort for the Boys & Girls Clubs in Springfield. Proceeds from the event go to after-school programs that benefit kids in the community.

Emmitt Smith is a Pro Football Hall-of-Famer who won three Super Bowls Champion with the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990s. He is the NFL’s all-time leader in career rushing yards (18,355) and rushing touchdowns (164) and was named the NFL MVP in 1993.

The Steak & Steak Dinner has seen many distinguished guest speakers attend since its inception in 1997, including Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Tony La Russa, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Coach Bob Knight and more.
