Nebraska Football Countdown to Kickoff: No. 16 Elijah Jeudy
Only 16 days remain until the beginning of Nebraska’s 2024 season and in the player spotlight with just over two weeks remaining is junior defensive lineman Elijah Jeudy. The 6-foot-3, 285-pound junior defensive lineman is in his second year with the program after playing in 11 games as part of the Blackshirt defense in 2023 as he recorded eight tackles including one tackle for loss while also blocking one field goal while a member of the Huskers’ special team unit. This fall, Jeudy will once again be a rotational defensive lineman for the Huskers but could see a bit of a bigger role than what he saw in 2023. Jeudy and the Huskers will continue to prepare for the Huskers season opener on August 31 against the UTEP Miners on August 31. The Nebraska football team has had its fair share of staff shakeups since Matt Rhule took over. This summer's shakeup came thanks to defensive back coach Evan Cooper stepping down abruptly. Sidney School Board approves new Ag teacher
SIDNEY -- The Sidney School District Board of Education recently approved Lori "Chrissy" Befus as the new agriculture teacher at Sidney High School. She has worked as an insurance agent and customer service representative at Security First Insurance, Cabela's in Sidney and Corral West Ranchwear as store manager and as manager trainee. She has an Associates of Science, Agricultural Business with emphasis in Communications from Lamar Community College and a Bachelor of Arts in Agriculture Business with emphasis in Communications from Oklahoma Panhandle State University.
Man arrested after leading York deputy on chase with two children in vehicle
YORK, Neb. (KOLN) - A York man accused of leading a deputy on a chase with two children inside his SUV appeared in court Monday. Randy Kermoade, 36, pled not guilty to six charges: two counts of child abuse, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, no proof of insurance, willful reckless driving and driving under suspension. He posted bail, which was set at 10% of $10,000 and he is scheduled to be back in court on Oct. 29.

2026 four-star running back Kayden Jones has scheduled a visit with Nebraska football on September 7. This was reported by his On3 profile. He is the 14th overall running back in the 2026 class and the top overall player in his class from the state of Oklahoma per the On3 Recruiting rankings. WNCC Construction Trades offering Plumbing course in Sidney
SIDNEY -- Registration is open for Western Nebraska Community College's next Construction Trades program, an Entry-Level Plumbing course in Sidney starting on October 1. The Entry-Level Plumbing course is intended for students interested in entering the plumbing industry. The program is designed to help students get their foot-in-the door as a helper or with a goal of being an plumbing apprentice in a 20-week timeframe.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Pauly D is stopping in Lincoln this fall to DJ. The Royal Grove announced DJ Pauly D will perform on Friday, Sept. 13. Pauly D’s breakthrough came in 2010 when he signed a multi-album deal with 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records, becoming the first DJ to join the prestigious label.
