Mixology, bull-riding competition will take place in September

Bartenders will have a chance to show their stuff in September with the inaugural Bartenders Brawl, a competition that "combines mixology skills with mechanical bull riding prowess," according to a press release.

The event, hosted by Good Spirits & Co., Fried Design Company and Mother's Brewing Company, will take place at 1 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Mother's Barrel House, 215 S. Grant Ave. Bartenders Brawl is open to all, featuring a cash bar, a DJ and free mechanical bull riding.

Bartenders have until Sept. 1 to submit their original Patron tequila cocktail recipes. The top 10 finalists will compete at the event by mixing their signature cocktail after riding a mechanical bull. The winner will take home a cash prize.

"We're thrilled to bring this exciting new event to the local bartending community," Joshua Widner, owner at Good Spirits & Co., said in a press release. "The Bartenders Brawl combines the art of mixology with the thrill of bull riding, creating an unforgettable experience for both competitors and spectators."
