Michigan man sentenced in rape, beating of woman after breakup
PONTIAC, MI – A Michigan man has been sentenced to 26 to 50 years in prison for the rape and beating of his ex-girlfriend, authorities announced. Adam Richards Williams, 35, of Lake Orion, was sentenced Monday by Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Kwamé Rowe, who exceeded sentencing guidelines due to the “egregious, despicable crimes” that Williams is convicted of, according to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
Oakland County man charged with killing on-duty Melvindale police officer
MELVINDALE, Mich. – An Oakland County man has been charged with killing an on-duty Melvindale police officer. Michael Lopez, 44, of Southfield, was pulled over at 12:34 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2024, at a car wash near the intersection of Oakwood Boulevard and Clarann Street in Melvindale, officials said.
