Wheeling Avenue open to traffic during July 4 fireworks display
MUNCIE, Ind. — Wheeling Avenue will remain open to traffic during Thursday night's fireworks celebration in downtown Muncie. The street had traditionally been blocked to traffic during the annual event, requiring police cars to be posted at each side street. According to a release issued by Mayor Dan Ridenour's administration on Monday, few spectators have gathered on the closed street in recent years.
