City of Harrisonburg launches new sustainability program ‘EATS’
HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - The City of Harrisonburg has launched EATS, a new sustainability program encouraging the food service industry to reduce its food waste footprint. EATS, or Eateries Acting Towards Sustainability, is a free and voluntary Green Restaurant Certification Program that aligns with the city’s Environmental Action Plan. The certification acknowledges local businesses’ sustainability efforts and encourages them to continue to pursue environmental efforts.
