BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Eric J. Bieber '81 was elected as the newest member of the Illinois Wesleyan University Board of Trustees during the spring board meeting May 17. Bieber is an obstetrician/gynecologist and reproductive endocrinologist. He studied biology at Illinois Wesleyan and earned a doctorate of medicine from Loyola University’s Stritch School of Medicine. He also holds a master’s degree in microbiology from Illinois State University and a master’s degree in healthcare management from Harvard University.
Man loses everything, including his dog, after fire destroys his Woodford County home
WOODFORD COUNTY (25News Now) - A fire late Monday afternoon destroyed a home in Minonk, killing a dog, but the man who lived there was not home at the time. Minonk Fire Chief Steve Allen said the single-story modular home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived shortly before 5 p.m. The chief said neighbors also heard explosions, probably from oxygen tanks which may have fueled the fire.
Peoria police seeking help in finding man wanted for murder
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Peoria police are asking for the public’s help in finding a murder suspect. According to a Tuesday Peoria police press release, 35-year-old Bryan Vann is wanted for first-degree murder in connection to the shooting death of another man in south Peoria. He is described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall and 185 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
