Jacob Pruitt commits to Mississippi State

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State pitcher Jacob Pruitt announced his commitment to Mississippi State University on Wednesday.

Pruitt showed a lot of promise for the Sycamores in his sophomore season. He started the season strong with a 2-1 record and a 1.06 E.R.A. after his first 3 starts of the season but missed over a month due to injury after his 3rd start of the season against Southern Miss.

He finished the season with a 3-2 record and a 3.02 E.R.A., striking out 57 in 41.2 innings pitched.

By joining the SEC and the Bulldogs, Pruitt joins fellow pitchers Brennyn Cutts (Louisville), Luke Hayden (LSU), and Cole Gilley (Indiana) in committing to a Power 5 program this off-season.
