Gypsy Hill Park Stream Restoration Project on track to be completed in 2025
STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) - The City of Staunton has begun to restore a portion of the stream in Gypsy Hill Park. The restoration project on Peyton Creek was launched after fast-moving waters caused stream areas to erode and wash excess sediment into the local ecosystem. Flooding from previous years prompted the city to add flood barriers and improve streambanks to the existing stream. These flood barriers help stormwater management and other weather systems.
