New Sterlington Middle School opening for first day of classes, Aug. 12
STERLINGTON, La. (KNOE) - Middle schoolers attending Sterlington Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year will begin classes inside the new building on Aug. 12. “In the past month - month and a half. There’s been a real uptick in production on this project. A lot has gotten done. We as a school district - we’re in a position where we feel comfortable moving forward and with the goal of starting school in this building,” said Adam Hunsucker, who’s over government affairs and community engagement at Ouachita Parish Schools.

Murder mystery dinner theater to raise funds for 2024 NELA Celtic Festival
WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The City of West Monroe is hosting a murder mystery dinner event to raise funds for the 2024 Northeast Louisiana Celtic Festival. “The Altos” will be presented at the West Monroe Convention Center on Friday, Aug. 16, and Saturday, Aug. 17. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7. Twin City Entertainment is producing the show, which is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
