Multi-vehicle wreck claims life in Decatur
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division reported a death in a multi-vehicle crash in Decatur Monday evening. At approximately 5:39, the victim, Brenda R. Reed, 78, was driving near Alabama 67 near Hulaco Road, in her 1999 GMC Sonoma when she collided with a 2017 Nissan Titan. Her truck overturned and left the roadway. Aaron Gaines, 34, the driver of the Nissan Titan collided with another vehicle after hitting Reed.

Which Alabama city drives the second most nationwide?
Recent reports found that drivers throughout the Birmingham region travel more every day than those in most of the country. The Birmingham-Hoover metro area and Jefferson County both placed second in the most recent Replica ranking of who travels the most vehicular miles daily. In Birmingham-Hoover, the average for drivers was 36.1 miles a day in fall of last year. The only drivers who travel further are those in Raleigh, NC with an average of 38.1 miles a day.
Magic City Boot Camp returns to Legion Field

Vinemont man dead after shooting; CCSO searching for suspect
CULLMAN, Ala. – A shooting on July 1 in the Vinemont area resulted in the death of Dylaan Bomberry-Wright, 29, of Vinemont. The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office is searching for suspect Jamarion Allen Harrison, 20, of Birmingham. The CCSO said deputies and investigators responded to the report of a shooting in the Vinemont area on Monday. Cullman County Coroner Jeremy Kilpatrick identified the victim, who was shot and transported to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries. The CCSO said the suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived. A warrant for murder has been issued. According to the CCSO, Harrison and the victim, along with another individual, were together at a residence. A confrontation occurred between Harrison and the victim and ultimately resulted in Harrison allegedly shooting the victim. This is an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with any information as to the whereabouts of Jamarion Harrison is asked to contact the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office at 256-734-0342.

Acquaintance Arrested, Charged with Murder of Woman Found in Fayette County
A man has been arrested and charged with the murder of a young mother found dead in the woods of Fayette County Sunday morning. As the Thread reported earlier, 21-year-old Laci Whitson went missing after she allegedly left a rehabilitation facility in Lauderdale County with a known acquaintance named Michael Wade Tucker before dawn on Wednesday.
