I Heart Cookies is bringing dinosaurs to Stevens Point and Plover. What can you expect?

STEVENS POINT – Be on the lookout for dinosaurs in the Stevens Point and Plover areas in the next few days.

I Heart Cookies Co. is hosting Dinosaurs & I Heart Cookies on Saturday in Stevens Point and Monday in Plover. Here’s what you need to know before checking it out.

What is Dinosaurs & I Heart Cookies?

I Heart Cookies will set up animatronic dinosaurs at the Saturday and Monday events. You’ll find a T-Rex, Ankylosaurus and Triceratops. According to the Stevens Point and Plover Facebook events, there will also be a raptor enclosure with opportunities to take photos.

A Stevens Point Journal reporter stopped at this event Thursday afternoon in Marshfield and saw two trailers of animatronic dinosaurs with the raptor enclosure set up between them. The dinosaurs move and make noises, and a recording plays, explaining more about the dinosaurs and how they hunt.

When is it?

The event runs from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at Antique Up, 3256 Church St. in Stevens Point, and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Ashley, 1015 Commons Circle in Plover.

What about the cookies?

I Heart Cookies will bring a variety of their deep dish cookies to this event. Cookies are $5 each, or you can get six cookies for $25.

The cookies available at the Stevens Point event include Oreo Fudge Brownie, Caramel Chocolate Chip, Snickerdoodle Cinnamon Roll, Buttercream Sugar Cookie, Milk Chocolate Chip, Glazed Oatmeal, Cookie Monster, Circus Animal, Belgian Waffle and a gluten-free Snickerdoodle Cinnamon Roll made with gluten-free flour.

They have not yet shared the list of available cookies for the Plover event.

Event organizers ask guests to RSVP "going" on the Stevens Point and Plover Facebook events so they can help determine how many cookies to prepare.

Is there a cost for admission?

The cost for admission is one cookie purchase per person attending.

Does I Heart Cookies have other events scheduled in the area?

I Heart Cookies will be set up at several other locations in central Wisconsin:

• Friday, Aug. 2 − 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday in The Food Truck Lot, 940 Huntington Ave. in Wisconsin Rapids
• Sunday, Aug. 4 − noon to 6 p.m. at Ashley Furniture HomeStore, 1818 Stewart Ave. in Wausau

What is I Heart Cookies?

I Heart Cookies is a gourmet cookie food truck based in Wichita, Kansas. The truck travels across the country, including to Oklahoma, Colorado, Missouri, Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Texas, Arkansas, Illinois and Wisconsin.
