Rockford man dies after pickup truck is swept into Keith Creek
A 76-year-old Rockford man is dead after the pickup truck he was riding in became submerged in Keith Creek during Sunday night's storm. The man was a passenger inside a Dodge Dakota pickup truck that entered the Schnucks parking lot about 10:15 p.m. in the 2600 block of Charles Street in Rockford.

(WIFR) - Officials with ComEd expect 80% of outages to be fixed later this week following severe storms in northern Illinois that left thousands without power. “While we are assessing the storm damage and our region’s power infrastructure, ComEd crews are working around the clock to restore our customers,” said Vice President of Distribution Operations Mike Martin. “We expect to have 80% of our customers picked up by Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. and 99% of our customers by this Friday, July 18.”

Last Wednesday, the Kewanee Kiwanis presented six high school students from Kewanee and Wethersfield with $10,000 in scholarships. The scholarships were issued to Key Club Seniors from Kewanee High School and Wethersfield High School.
