Zanon to join Nebraska Omaha Hall of Fame
Stillwater boys hockey coach Greg Zanon was recently announced as one of five former Mavericks who will make up the 2023 class of inductees for the University of Nebraska Omaha Hall of Fame later this year. Zanon was on hand for the announcement and also took a final skate in a Mavericks sweater prior to the men’s hockey game against Western Michigan on Nov. 4. Joining Zanon, who was a two-time All-American while racking up 107 career points for the Mavericks before embarking on a 12-year professional hockey career, in this year’s induction class by Bruce Benedict, Danny Fulton, Sandy Derby Higdon and Janice Kruger.
