    Boys lacrosse: Third-ranked Ponies stay unbeaten

    WOODBURY — The third-ranked Stillwater boys lacrosse team remained unbeaten in Suburban East Conference play with an 11-10 victory over the Raptors on Wednesday, April 24 at East Ridge High School.

    Isaac Johnston provided three goals and an assist for the Ponies (3-0 SEC, 5-0), who join White Bear Lake (3-0, 3-1) as the only remaining SEC teams without a loss in conference play.

    Goaltender Casey Mork finished with 10 saves as Stillwater handed East Ridge (3-1, 4-1) its first loss of the season.

    Stillwater 15, Chanhassen 8

    At Oak Park Heights, the Ponies outscored Chanhassen 10-3 in the second half to pull away for a 15-8 nonconference victory in a battle of teams ranked among the state’s top 10 on Monday, April 22 at Stillwater Area High School.

    After playing to a 5-all deadlock in the first half, the third-ranked Ponies surged in front 10-8 in the third quarter and then scored five unanswered goals in the fourth.

    Grant Giese exploded for eight goals to pace Stillwater, which also received three goals from Brocky Lynskey and two from Bobby Appert. Luke Geisbauer led the Ponies with two assists.

    Aiden Moroney notched three goals for the seventh-ranked Storm (2-1).

    Assists — Ch, Bush, Adam Rosolanka, Adams and Tyler Burton; St, Luke Geisbauer 2, Wagner, Luca Jarvis, Easton Abrams and Isaac Johnston.

    Saves — Ch, Charlie Wallis 9; St, Casey Mork 10.

    Stillwater 13, Irondale 8

    At New Brighton, Anderson Wagner poured in five goals and Grant Giese found the net three times to propel the Ponies to a 13-8 SEC victory over the Knights on Friday, April 19 at Irondale High School.

    Stillwater jumped out to an 8-2 halftime lead and never looked back. Easton Abrams and Nicholas Hornbuckle added two goals apiece.

    Casey Mork turned away 13 shots in goal for the Ponies.

    Irondale (1-2 SEC, 2-2) received a team-high four goals from Freddy Bankston.
