Oklahoma State Cowboys running back Ollie Gordon II , the 2023 Doak Walker Award winner, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Sunday (June 30) morning, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday (July 2).

Gordon, 20, of Fort Worth, Texas, was arrested on complaint of DUI, transport of an open container of alcohol , failure to maintain single lane traffic and speeding, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by ESPN . The affidavit states that Gordon was pulled over by troopers in Oklahoma City after swerving his car twice into an adjacent lane and driving 17 miles per hour faster than the speed limit of 65.

A trooper detected the odor of alcohol emitting from Gordon's vehicle during the traffic stop and the running back admitted to having open bottles of vodka and tequila, both of which were found half empty, in his vehicle, according to the affidavit. The 20-year-old registered a blood alcohol level of 0.11 and 0.10, which exceeded Oklahoma's 0.08% legal blood alcohol content limit for driving.

Gordon won the 2023 Doak Walker Award, which honors college football's top running back, during The Home Depot College Football Awards in December. The Texas native led the FBS with 1,732 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns on 285 rushing attempts, while also recording 39 receptions for 330 yards and one touchdown.

A spokesman for Oklahoma State confirmed to ESPN that the school was "aware" of Gordon's arrest Tuesday morning.
