The final month before training camp has proven to be a minefield for Oklahoma State and its Big 12 Conference title and College Football Playoff hopes.

The arrest of Doak Walker Award-winning running back Ollie Gordon II for suspicion of driving under the influence on  July 1 now brings into question whether one of the nation’s best players will be available for the Cowboys to start the season or will have to sit out any period of time.

Gordon, who is 20 years old, was pulled over by Oklahoma state troopers after his car ws observed swerving into another line and he was clocked going 82 miles per hour in a 65 miles per hour zone.

According to the affidavit, the trooper detected the smell of alcohol and two half-empty bottles of alcohol were found in the car. Gordon registered a blood alcohol level of .11 and .10. The legal BAC limit in Oklahoma is .08 percent.

Harris rushed for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2023 and averaged 6.1 yards per carry. He also had 39 receptions for 330 receiving yards and 1 touchdown .

Gordon, 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, is projected as a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
