    Sonoma men arrested in Stockton railcar theft

    (FOX40.COM) — Three Sonoma men attempted to rob a railcar parked near the BNSF Mariposa Yard, Stockton Intermodal Facility on June 28, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

    Deputies were responding to reports of a suspicious person near South Kaiser Road when a K9 deputy located a truck trespassing the rail yard.

    Three men were found inside the truck along with several packages and cardboard boxes.

    A large railcar was found with its container doors opened and boxes, matching those found in the back of the truck, were found scattered on the ground around the railcar.

    Juan Jose Lopez-Fuerte, Fernando Mata-Gamino, and Hernan Lopez-Chavez, all from Sonoma, CA, were transported to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

    The three men are facing charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property.
