Former officer sentenced in death of Eau Claire man
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) - A former Superior police was sentenced today following a drunk driving incident that killed an Eau Claire man and his baby in 2022. Court documents show that on July 17, 44-year-old Gregory Swanson was sentenced to five years in prison and five years extended supervision for each of two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. These sentences are to be served concurrently.

Bloomer man charged with assault of woman, child
CHIPPEWA FALLS — A Bloomer man accused of hitting a woman and a 12-year-old girl in June has been charged. Joshua P. Buss, 41, 1526 Martin Road, was charged in Chippewa County Court with child abuse — intentionally causing harm, battery — domestic abuse, and two counts of disorderly conduct.
