BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Shreveport artist has designed the new “I Voted” sticker for this year’s election. Louisiana Secretary of State Nancy Landry will show the commissioned design at 9 a.m. Monday, July 8 at the Old Governor’s Mansion. William Joyce, the artist and Academy Award winner, will be at the unveiling.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Teen suicide is an epidemic that has only gotten worse over the years. According to the Department of Health, it’s the 14th leading cause of death in Louisiana and the 3rd leading cause of death for ages 10-34. A new state law taking effect this year requires the 988 suicide prevention hotline number on the back of student IDs.

The 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris are fast approaching, with the opening ceremony set for July 26 and the Olympic flame not extenguished until Aug. 11. A growing contingent of athletes with LSU and Louisiana ties have qualfied or been selected to compete in Paris, with more likely on the way. As of July 1 there were 19 athletes plus one athlete from Lafayette who were in the Games, with 13 more LSU athletes expected to qualify. That would far eclipse the 22 LSU athletes who made it to the Tokyo Olympics three years ago.
7 airmen at Barksdale become citizens during historic naturalization ceremony
BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) - Seven airmen assigned to the 2nd Bomb Wing became U.S. citizens Tuesday, July 2. A special naturalization ceremony was held that morning at Hoban Hall. This was the first ceremony of its kind to be held at Barksdale Air Force Base. Mark Hornsby, U.S. magistrate judge for the Western District of Louisiana, administered the oath of allegiance to the seven airmen.
Indiana and Illinois Arby’s Locations Affected by Franchisee Bankruptcy
After filing for bankruptcy, a small Arby's franchisee is selling some locations and closing others. Miracle Restaurant Group LLC, a company based out of Louisiana has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
