Moses Clements Virginia Tech scholarship dinner is July 28
The Greensville/Southampton Hokie Club and Alumni Chapter will be having its annual scholarship dinner on Sunday, July 28th at Golden Leaf Commons in Emporia. The Scholarship Program is named for beloved local Hokie, Moses Clements, in memory for his dedicated work for years with the local Virginia Tech Scholarship Program.
Chick-fil-A breaks ground in Emporia
Construction on Emporia’s newest restaurant has officially begun with the hopes of a fully operational Chick-fil-A arriving by the end of the year. Franchise owner Jason Riddle thanked the city employees of Emporia, his restaurant leadership team, the Cathy family for founding Chick-fil-A and God for allowing him to be able to pursue his path. Riddle is also the operator of Chick-fil-A in Southpark Mall in Colonial Heights.
