Legacy Tournament: Intriguing mix of ’25 talent on the attack
DEVENS, Mass. -- As usual, the Legacy tournament, held in Fort Devens late last month, was a massive event. This year I decided to only watch the Double-A groups in an effort to watch more top-tier players in both the 2025 and 2026 classes. When there are so many teams, decisions like that have to be made.

Swimming Pools in Central Mass
The Department of Conservation and Recreation has multiple pools in Central Mass that also offer free swimming lessons. These pools are a great place to cool off during the summer. They all offer free parking, and the hours of operation for free swimming are 11:15am to 6:45pm. Most of the pools also offer free swim lessons in the morning. The instructors are certified through the Red Cross Water Safety Instructor program. This is the same program that the majority of gyms and YMCAs require of their teachers. When I was in college, I worked at the Clinton State Pool as a guard and teacher. It was a great summer job, and while my daughter is too little to enroll in classes this summer, I know when the time comes I’ll definitely sign her up!

The following is an update from Weston Recreation that I will summarize as forget playing tennis this summer in Weston unless you belong to the Wightman or have good friends with courts. Also, be ready for a serious mess over at the high school until November, and I cannot wait to see how that parking lot is going to look for contractors and students come September. Gah!
