Josiah Moyer has recently joined MetroWest Medical Center as Director for Facilities and Support Services. As the department director, three areas fall to Josiah’s responsibility: Facilities (all things buildings and grounds); Cleanliness (as the Director for the Housekeeping department); and Security (as the contract client over the security contract with Allied Security). In his role, he makes sure that the building presents well, and is a safe, clean and attractive space that meets all the required codes and standards required by the Joint Commission, City, State and any other regulatory bodies. Josiah makes sure that all the items a building provides to patients, staff and visitors are always available, such as air conditioning, heat, water, power, medical gases and other important resources.

Thank you to all MetroWest Medical Center team members who supported the United Way of Tri County, a GBFB satellite located in Framingham, in our Annual ‘Healthy Over Hungry’ Cereal Drive! For some children, it can be challenging to ensure children have access to breakfast over the summer, and the Cereal Drive is one way to support kids during this time. Our donations will go to families living in our communities we serve. Because of your efforts, we donated 976 pounds of breakfast foods to the Food Bank. Some fun was had this Cereal Drive, we held a competition between departments and here are the team winners:

Mass. teen honored for saving 5-year-old from drowning in condo pool
ACTON, Mass. — A 19-year-old lifeguard is being commended for her quick action in saving a 5-year-old boy who sunk to the bottom of a pool at Massachusetts condominium. Alison Mammola was working as a lifeguard at the Bellows Farms condominium on Sunday, June 23, when a 5-year-old boy lost his flotation devices and sunk to the bottom of the 9-foot end of the pool.
Hopkinton Residents Deny Illegal Food Sales Amid Crackdown
By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Some people accused of illegally selling food out of their homes in Hopkinton are insisting they didn’t do it. Last month the Health Department sent cease and desist letters to several residents that were apparently selling food without a permit. The Hopkinton Independent reports most of them have stopped but two claim to be falsely accused. The Health Director tells the paper if the town doesn’t crack down and someone gets sick from improperly stored or prepared food, the town can be sued.

A 19-year-old from Chelmsford, Isaiah Polston, has been charged with armed robbery and related offenses for an incident that occurred last December.
