State Police investigating Shenandoah County crash that killed bicyclist last week
SHENANDOAH COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal crash last Wednesday, May 8, in Shenandoah County involving a bicyclist. The bicyclist, Rex A. Catt, 53, of Edinburg, was travelling east just before 1:30 p.m. when he was struck by a 2024 Kia Seltos travelling south at the intersection of Old Valley Pike and Maple Lane. The Kia was unable to avoid a collision and immediately stopped at the scene, according to a release from Virginia State Police.
Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office makes arrest after fentanyl pills were found in hotel room
SHENANDOAH COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) - The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office has charged a man after finding more than 50 capsules of fentanyl in his hotel room. On May 12, the sheriff’s office was called to the Econo Lodge in Woodstock for a report of an overdose. After obtaining a search warrant, investigators searched the room the following day. That’s when they found more than 50 capsules containing suspected powder fentanyl and a cell phone.
