US court jails Marine who performed Nazi salute during 2021 Capitol attack
The US District Court for the District of Columbia sentenced a former Marine Tyler Dykes on Friday to nearly five years in prison for assaulting police officers during the January 6 Capitol attack. On top of the imprisonment, Dykes received another 36 months of supervised release and a $22,000 fine.
Four people hospitalized following multi-vehicle crash in Northeast
WASHINGTON — Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash in Northeast, D.C. Officers were called to the intersection of North Capitol Street and Fort Drive, Northeast for a multi-vehicle crash Saturday evening. When they arrived, three cars had visible damage to them. One vehicle was flipped over on its hood.
Cave Comedy Fest to feature ‘Last Comic Standing’ star Lachlan Patterson
The third annual Cave Comedy Fest returns on Saturday, July 27, at Melrose Caverns in Harrisonburg. The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Funny Womacks & Friends, formerly X2 Comedy, invite the community to come out early to Tailgate & Play before the show. Fairfax County police are investigating a suspicious death
FAIRFAX, Va. — Fairfax County Police are investigating a death along Route 29. Officers were called to the the 9500 block of Route 29 near Oakton on Saturday for an unresponsive person. When they arrived, officials found a man. First responders arrived and declared the man dead at the scene.
White House awards Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority $2.5M to lower housing costs in Va.
VIRGINIA (WFXR)– The White House recently announced $325 million in funding from the Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant to seven communities across the country to build more homes and revitalize neighborhoods that have been left behind. One community receiving funding includes the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NRHA), which received $2.5 million to help lower housing costs in Virginia.
