Poet Scott Withiam to take stage during Jambalaya Horns intermission July 30
IPSWICH — What’s a poet to do while a loud and lively horn band is playing? Wait until the intermission, of course. When The Jambalaya Horns put down their instruments at the Downtown Tuesday concert on July 30, it will be Scott Withiam’s cue to step up to the microphone.
Two-Alarm Fire Saturday in Haverhill Displaces Residents; Blaze Began in Mulch Outside Building
There were no injuries, but up to a dozen residents were displaced Saturday afternoon after a two-alarm fire at a multifamily building on Arlington Street in Haverhill. Haverhill Fire Chief Robert M. O’Brien said the fire appears to have been started by careless disposal of cigarettes in mulch near the front entrance of the home at 34-36 Arlington St.

During a routine annual reappointment of committee, board and commission members on July 9 the Rockport Select Board voted 4-1 against reappointing Laura Kozachek to the Conservation Commission. Putnam, CT – A State Trooper safely talked a man down from the side of an overpass bridge Sunday morning. According to the Connecticut State Police, at approximately 9:03 AM on Sunday, July 21st, 2024, Troop D Troopers were dispatched to the Kennedy Dr/Park Rd bridge over I-395 for a distraught man hanging over the southbound side of the bridge.

2 seriously injured after 3-vehicle crash in Westmoreland, NH
Two people were seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash in Westmoreland, New Hampshire Sunday. New Hampshire State Police responded to the intersection of Route 12 and River Road North around 12:38 p.m. when a Toyota Sienna struck a 1980 Fiat Spider waiting for traffic to pass before turning left. The impact pushed the Fiat into the oncoming opposite lane where it was hit by a 2002 Ford F-350. The driver of the Sienna, Kim Carrier, 46, of Swanzey, New Hampshire and a child inside the Toyota was not injured. The driver of the Fiat, Peter Friedrichs, 67, and his passenger, Irene Friedrichs, 73, of Keene, became trapped in the vehicle with serious injuries.
