It feels like just yesterday that Jason Reitman was adding new cast members to his SNL film , and now there is a first trailer showing them all in action as the iconic original ensemble of the beloved late-night television show Saturday Night .

Written by Gil Kenan and Reitman himself, Saturday Night takes place on that now legendary opening night, October 11, 1975, when a group of young comedians and writers changed television forever.

Reitman's film depicts the chaotic 90 minutes that lead up to the first broadcast that would make or break the show for good.

Starring a fantastic ensemble including Finn Wolfhard, Willem Dafoe, Dylan O'Brien, J.K. Simmons, Ella Hunt, Rachel Sennott, Matthew Rhys, Lamorne Morris, Nicholas Braun, Kaia Gerber, Emily Fairn, Gabriel LaBelle, Andrew Barth Feldman, Cory Michael Smith, Kim Matula, and Cooper Hoffman, Saturday Night is set to be a film you won't want to miss.

The two-minute trailer perfectly captures the frenetic energy occurring behind the scenes at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in the heart of Manhattan on the opening night of SNL.

Opening outside the NBC studios on 50th Street, Finn Wolfhard is seen trying to rally bustling New Yorkers into a building for a "free comedy show". As expected, that does little to muster interest, and inside 30 Rock, Gabrielle Labelle, as a young Lorne Michaels, struggles to even get into the studio.

For fans of SNL, it's really quite something to see such iconic locations before they meant what they mean now.

The two-minute trailer does an excellent job of setting the vibe and tone without giving much away.

Before it became the iconic show it is today, it was a collection of young people with a dream, and Saturday Night will show us the foundation of that when it hits theaters on October 11, 2024, 49 years to the date from the original show.
