Three ambassadors from Indian River State College’s Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) chapter attended and medaled at events during the organization’s State Leadership Conference in Orlando. The conference was the largest in Florida’s history, hosting more than 3,800 member-competitors, advisors, and guests, as well as more than 50 competitive events and 10 recognition events.

The ambassadors–Stuart resident Sara Anderson, Palm City resident Rachel Cannon, and Vero Beach resident Layloni Morris–began their competition at the regional conference in West Palm Beach back in January. Anderson competed and medaled in five events; Cannon competed and medaled in two events; and Morris competed and medaled in one event.

All Three Indian River State College students are now State of Florida HOSA Representatives and will continue their final competition at the HOSA International Leadership Conference in Houston, June 25-30.

In addition, faculty member and HOSA advisor Emlyn Anderson was awarded Outstanding Chapter Advisor (Postsecondary) 2023-2024 in Florida.
