Warning: Claim to Fame Season 3 spoilers ahead. After two incorrect guesses—first Dustin Hoffman and then Owen Wilson—could the theory that Adam is related to Bret Michaels on Claim to Fame Season 3 finally be right?

Adam is one of 11 contestants on Claim to Fame Season 3, ABC ‘s reality TV series where relatives of celebrities must correctly identify each other’s famous family members while keeping their own a secret in order to win $100,000. Each contestant has a clue inside a wine bottle that has information about their celebrity relative. Other contestants can reveal the clue after winning a challenge, giving them the opportunity to enter the wine room and opening one of their fellow competitor’s bottles.

More: Claim to Fame Season 3 spoilers and who each contestant is related to

Adam’s wine clue was opened by Hud, who shared it with Shane. Based on the clue, which seemed to reference a long-haired singer from the ’90s, Shane speculated that Adam’s celebrity relative was rock musician and Rock of Love alum Bret Michaels. The clue also led Shane to believe that other clues on the clue wall—a guitar, a rock, and a heart for love—were also references to Rock of Love. But was he correct?

Unfortunately, Shane was wrong yet again about Adam’s celebrity relative. Though the clues make sense—Michaels does have long hair and was the lead singer of the group Poison in the 1980s and ’90s—he is not Adam’s celebrity relative. Instead, Adam is related to singer Michael Bolton, which is confirmed by his full wine clue: a long pencil (not a short one), hair, the number 90 in a star, a person with a question mark on their head, a person holding a microphone, a heart, a tennis ball, a plus sign, and an advertising sign.

The first part of the clue—a long-haired ’90s star—is a reference to Bolton’s signature long hair in the ’90s. The next part translates to “who sings love ballads.” (The question mark = who; the microphone = sing; the heart = love; and the tennis ball, plus sign and advertising sign = ballads.)

Though Bolton started as a hard rock singer for the band Blackjack, he was best known for love ballads like “How Can We Be Lovers,” “When a Man Loves a Woman,” and “When I’m Back on My Feet Again.”

Adam, whose full name is Adam Cristoferson, is Bolton’s nephew. Adam’s two truths and a lie were that his celebrity relative is his uncle, an actor, and won a Grammy, which means his lie was the actor part. Adam’s mother is Bolton’s sister, making Bolton his uncle.

Along with his wine bottle clue, the clues on the clue wall that confirm Bolton as Adam’s celebrity relative include a lightning bolt, a reference to the last name Bolton, as well as numerous clues about how his celebrity relative is known for love songs.

Claim to Fame is available to stream on Hulu.
