Devin Strader , a 28-year-old Freight Company Owner from Rosenberg, Texas, is one of 25 contestants on The Bachelorette Season 21 with Jenn Tran . Devin—who Jenn and his cast mates compared to Pete Davidson—started as a fan favorite on night one for his sense of humor and banter with Jenn. Things took a turn for the worse, however, in Episode 2 when Devin started to feud with Aaron Erb , Thomas Nguyen , Sam McKinney , and other contestants due to his tendency to steal Jenn away—including on group dates and when she was in the middle of conversations with other men—for his own one-on-one time.

As the season went on—and his enemies went home—Devin got back into the good graces of Bachelor Nation, ridding him of his villain label. Now as one of Jenn’s finalists on The Bachelorette Season 21, Devin has a shot at winning the whole thing and getting engaged to Jenn. But will that happen?

Does Devin win The Bachelorette Season 21?

In what came as a surprise to even Jenn, Devin was the winner of The Bachelorette Season 21 and got engaged to Jenn at the Final Rose Ceremony, according to Reality Steve. That means that Marcus Shoberg , a 31-year-old Army Ranger Veteran from Cloquet, Minnesota, was her runner-up. Her third-place finalist was Jonathon Johnson , a 27-year-old Creative Director from Kansas City, Missouri. Jenn and Devin are still together, according to Reality Steve.

Jenn seemingly confirmed she got engaged in The Bachelorette Season 21 finale in an interview on the podcast “Call Her Daddy” in June 2024. The confirmation came in response to a question about how fans expected Maria Georgas and Daisy Kent , Jenn’s Bachelor Season 28 cast mates, to be the Season 21 Bachelorette instead of her.

“People were like, ‘She’s too boring, or She’s too crazy, she wants to take shots,’” Jenn said. “It’s like, God forbid I want to take a shot! I didn’t know that once you get engaged, you can’t take a shot. Or once you find love, you can’t take a shot.” While Jenn later corrected her comment to a more general “find love,” fans interpreted the slipup as confirmation she got engaged.

Jenn and Devin’s engagement also previewed in the cold opening of The Bachelorette Season 21, which led fans to believe that Jenn left The Bachelorette single and turned down her final contestant. “I can’t let you propose to me,” Jenn says in the opening to her last suitor, who Reality Steve identified as Devin based on the color of the contestant’s suit in the clip. Reality Steve confirmed that the opening was a misdirect—much like Joey Graziadei’s cold opening on The Bachelor Season 28—and that Jenn and Devin are, in fact, engaged and together.

If Devin as Jenn’s winner is a surprise to you, Jenn herself also hinted to Parade in an interview in July 2024 that she was shocked by how her Bachelorette season ended. “The season ended in a way that I didn’t see for myself,” she said. “It was definitely a bit of a shock.”

Jenn also previously told Season 11 Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe that something occurred in her Bachelorette finale that’s “never happened before” in Bachelor Nation. Though Reality Steve hasn’t confirmed what that “something” is, fans have speculated that twist could be that Jenn proposes to Devin (instead of the other way around), which would make her the first Bachelorette to propose to her winner. This would also explain Jenn telling her final contestant that she couldn’t let him propose to her in the cold open. Reality Steve, however, doesn’t believe the theory and theorized that Jenn tells Devin not to propose to her because she wants to give him her final rose first.

“What I do know is in that opening scene Monday where she’s telling Devin ‘I can’t let you propose to me,’ there isn’t an ounce of sadness in her face or a tear in her eye. It’s almost like she’s about to follow it up with, ‘…because I want to choose you,’ or ‘…until I give you the final rose,'” he wrote.
