Rodney Harrison, the former Suffolk County police commissioner, has joined Petrone Risk, a Uniondale-based consulting firm. Harrison is serving as the senior managing director and chief strategy officer at the risk management and security firm.

Harrison, whose leadership was credited in the arrest of the suspected Gilgo Beach serial killer, spent 32 years in law enforcement, including as NYPD chief of the department, and brings a wealth of expertise to his new position. As NYPD chief of patrol, Harrison managed operations and policies for events that included New Year’s Eve celebrations in Times Square, the New York City Marathon and Thanksgiving Day parades, overseeing large-scale public safety logistics.

At Petrone, Harrison will be responsible for furthering strategic initiatives, driving growth and other offerings to enhance the company’s services in overseeing complex security challenges.

"We are thrilled to welcome Rodney K. Harrison to the Petrone Risk team," John Petrone, senior managing director and chief revenue officer of Petrone Risk, said in a news release about Harrison joining the firm.

"His distinguished career and strategic acumen will be invaluable as we continue to expand our global reach and enhance our clients' security and risk management capabilities," Petrone added.
