Suffolk Education Foundation’s 9th Annual Gala for the Arts in SPS

    By Staff Reports,

    2024-03-15

Since 2015, the Suffolk Education Foundation’s board of directors has proudly supported the fine arts programs in Suffolk Public Schools through their annual gala. Now in its ninth year, the SEF gala has returned more than $52,000 to the school division’s music, art, and theater programs.

This year’s gala — “Prom Rewind” — is twisting the traditional gala format on its head. The location has been changed to the Suffolk Center for the Cultural Arts, and the vibe has been converted to a nostalgic “dance through the decades” event. Because the center is a former high school, the ballroom location sparked this year’s theme.

Student artwork from each SPS school will be displayed, and the Nansemond River High School jazz ensemble will greet guests as they arrive at the ballroom for “Prom Rewind.” The new format will also offer teachers the chance to have some fun as they celebrate the end of the school year!

For any questions, individuals can contact Bethanne Bradshaw via suffolkef.contact@gmail.com or at (757) 237-3249.
