(July 8, 2024) --The Southeastern Conference today announced the official student-athlete attendee listing for 2024 SEC Football Kickoff Media Days presented by Regions, to be held at the Omni Dallas Hotel July 15-18. This will be the first time for the event to be held in Dallas and the fourth different location for the SEC’s premier media event in four years. Nashville, Atlanta and Birmingham have served as hosts the last three years.

Back Mountain wins District 31 9-11 Baseball title
KINGSTON — On the very first day of pool play in the District 31 9-11 Baseball tournament, Back Mountain’s offense was stymied in a loss to Kingston/Forty-Fort. The two teams clashed once again on Saturday, this time with a district title on the line — and the Back Mountain bats wouldn’t be held down again.

MEYERS-INGRAHAM (4-8) 3. Kyle VanAuker went 2-for-3 with an RBI, two stolen bases and a walk to lead Rayson-Miller in Game 1. Ryan Munzinger hit a two-run single in the third putting Rayson-Miller on the scoreboard first. Owen Osborne crossed the plate twice reaching base with a single and a fielder’s choice. Will Countryman got the win from the mound with five strikeouts and two earned runs surrendered across six innings pitched. Additionally, Countryman tallied two singles and scored a run. Thomas Carter earned the save with three strikeouts-looking in the seventh inning. Max Blaustein collected an RBI with a bunt single in the fourth. Nate Weber singled and walked while Tyler Brown singled and scored a run. Thomas O’Reilly added a walk. For Meyers-Ingraham, AJ LaLoggia was 2-for-4 including a one-run double in the fifth. Drew Rosa collected an RBI with a sacrifice fly and also singled and walked. Mason Drew and Jake DiCicco scored a run apiece, both after walking. Matt Riddell and Caleb Nourse both singled. Tré Walker reached base on balls. James Marotta stole two bases after being hit by a pitch.

Little League: Plains slams way past Mountain Top to District 16 Major championship
JENKINS TWP. — Plains left the bases loaded in the in the third and fourth innings Monday night. Omar Vincente-Sanchez made sure it didn’t happen again in the fifth. Vincente-Sanchez blasted the first pitch he saw over the left-center fence for a grand slam as Plains used a five-run inning to defeat Mountain Top 6-3 for the District 16 Little League Major Baseball championship.

DURYEA — The Mountain Top all-stars showed why they were unbeaten going into Saturday’s District 16 9-11 Baseball championship game at the Duryea Little League. Mountain Top received excellent pitching from Garrett Chalker and Eli Metz and contributions throughout the offense as it defeated Greater Pittston Area 7-2 on an extremely hot afternoon.
