Alexandria man seeks answers after his dog dies while boarding at PetSmart
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (7News) — An Alexandria man is seeking answers after his beloved 3-year-old dog died while boarding at a PetSmart in the Potomac Yard shopping center. Andrew Noles said before going on a trip to New York last Thursday, he dropped off Clark, an Aussiedoodle, at the “Petshotel” inside the PetSmart store. Noles said Clark had stayed at the facility in the past without any problems.
Permit Issued For $9.4 Million Addition at Elementary School
A permit has been issued to Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) for construction of a $9.4 million addition at Greencastle Elementary School in Silver Spring (Fairland). Per the MCPS Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), projections indicated enrollment at Greencastle Elementary School would exceed capacity by the end of the six-year planning period. A feasibility study was conducted to determine the cost and scope of an addition project. An FY 2023 appropriation was approved to begin the architectural design for an addition project at this school. An FY2024 appropriation was approved for construction funds.
Metropolitan Police Announce Potomac River Restrictions for Fourth of July Celebrations Between D.C. Bridges
The Metropolitan Police Department has issued a notice regarding restrictions for watercraft activity on the Potomac River during the upcoming Fourth of July celebrations. Set to ensure safety during the festivities, the guidelines specify anchorage and navigational limits effective from 9 a.m. on July 4 until 9 a.m. the following day. Boaters are advised to plan accordingly to accommodate the altered waterway access between the 14th Street Bridge and the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge.
