Two Libraries in Sullivan County and Bristol will receive more than $32,000 combined in state grant funds to increase their digital resources. The Bristol Public Library was awarded over $17,000 for digital literacy instructors and Wi-Fi hotspots. The Sullivan County Public Library will receive over $15,000 to help cover the cost of Wi-Fi hotspots and internal internet connections. The grant funds were available under the Training Opportunities for the Public program.
EG Moody remembered as conscientious, hardworking and intelligent judge
Former Sullivan County Chancellor E.G. Moody, who served as a judge for 16 years, has died. Moody, 79, died June 16 at his home at Steele Creek Farm in Bristol, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Law in 1971 and practiced law in Kingsport with the firm Hawkins, Moody, Bingham and Miller for 35 years.

Sullivan County lawmaker to speak to local Republican Women
State Rep. Bud Hulsey, R-Kingsport, will speak to the Washington County Federated Republican Women (WCFRW) at noon on Monday.
