Experimental folk artist Jenny Parrott visits The Black Angel on Saturday, flexing their Omnichord and singer/songwriter skills. A big send-off party was held in Central City on Thursday night for Cedar Rapids firefighter Shelby Van Weelden, who is one of about 40 international riders and the first Iowan ever chosen to participate in what some say is the longest and toughest horse race in the world: the Mongol Derby.
Missing Polk County man reunited with family
A missing Runnells man has been reunited with his family. A release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office at 5:15 p.m. Friday said Pedro Gonzalez Ochoa, who had been missing since Thursday night, was located. Additional information is not expected.
