Oud, the Eagles’ cleanup hitter, ended the season with a .456 batting average, .532 on-base percentage and a 1.32 on-base plus slugging percentage. He came up with 36 hits: 21 singles, seven doubles, five triples and three home runs, helping the Eagles finish as District Runners-Up and Bi-District finalists.

Oud also finished with 35 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He pitched for Eagles, working 40.2 innings and tallying 89 strikeouts as well.

This marks Oud’s first career All-State selection. He was also named a District 18-2A First-Team All-District infielder.

The Cumby Trojans were represented on the All-State team by Jace Evans, who made the 2A All-State Honorable Mention team for this play at third base this season. He helped the Trojans reach the playoffs this season.

Evans, the Trojans’ three-hole hitter, enjoyed a great sophomore year, finishing with a .469 batting average, .581 on-base percentage and a 1.6 on-base plus slugging percentage. He finished the year with 23 hits: eight singles, nine doubles, one triple and five home runs.

    SULPHUR BLUFF

The Sulphur Bluff Bears were represented on the All-State team by Gavin Brazell, who made the 1A All-State Honorable Mention team as a catcher. He helped the Bears earn their second consecutive District Championship and reach the Regional Quarterfinals.

Brazell, the Bears’ primary catcher, enjoyed a stellar senior season, where he was named First-Team All-District catcher. He also made the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association (THSBCA) All-State team this year.
