SULPHUR, La. ( KLFY ) — A brief car chase in Calcasieu Parish this morning led to the arrest of three people and the seizure of stolen guns, other stolen items and a stolen car, authorities said.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. today Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were alerted to a stolen car out of Port Arthur, Texas traveling in the Sulphur area.

Deputies saw the car near the area of E. Napoleon Street and Willow Street in Sulphur and attempted to conduct a stop. The driver refused to stop, leading deputies on a brief pursuit, ultimately stopping at the dead-end of Barney Hoffpauir Road, where the driver and two passengers exited the car and ran into the wooded area nearby, officials said.

Shortly after 6 a.m., deputies located two of the suspects: a 16-year-old juvenile and Droman T. Baltazar, 18, both of Texas. Later in the morning the third suspect, Quindarius Moore, 18, of Texas, turned himself in to CPSO, authorities said.

Detectives located two guns inside the stolen car, as well as property belonging to individuals in the Sulphur and Lake Charles area. Officials said both guns had been stolen and the property located inside the car was from multiple vehicle burglaries that occurred earlier the same morning.

All three suspects were charged with illegal possession of stolen things less than $1,000, illegal possession of stolen things valued between $5,000-$25,000, aggravated flight from an officer, resisting an officer by flight and two counts of illegal possession of stolen firearms. Baltazar is additionally charged with possession of marijuana.

Their bonds have not yet been set. The investigations are ongoing and more charges are expected, officials said.
